چکیده

In this study, a dual modality imaging system which utilises the magnetic flux density measurements, acquired using Magnetic Resonance Current Density Imaging (MRCDI) techniques, and the surface potential measurements, obtained from conventional Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) techniques, to reconstruct high resolution absolute conductivity images. An iterative algorithm is developed to minimise the difference between the current densities calculated based on the potential and the magnetic field measurements. The proposed technique is tested on simulated data with/without noise. The conductivity error is approximately 5% with noise free data and 13% when 10% noise is added to the measurements. The spatial resolution is limited by the worst of the finite element size or half the MRI resolution.

Employing dual frequency phase sensitive demodulation technique to improve the accuracy of voltage measurement in magnetic induction tomography and designing a labratoary prototype

Magnetic induction tomography (MIT) is a promising modality for noninvasive imaging due to its contactless technology. Being a non-contact safe imaging technique, MIT has been an appropriate method in compare to other electrical tomography. In this imaging method, a primary magnetic field is applied by excitation coils to induce eddy currents in the material to be studied and a secondary magnet...

Evaluation of the performance of parallel-hole collimator for high resolution small animal SPECT: A Monte Carlo study

Introduction: Image quality and accuracy of in vivo activity quantification in SPECT are affected by collimator penetration and scatter components, especially in high energy imaging. These phenomena highly depend on the collimator characteristic and photon energy. The presence of penetrated and scattered photons from collimator in SPECT images degrades spatial resolution, contr...

A dual modality of cone beam CT and electrical impedance tomography for lung imaging

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is a new and emerging tomographic imaging system, which is able to provide high temporal resolution with low spatial resolution. In past few years, the EIT has been extensively studied for lung monitoring. Cone beam CT (CBCT) is an imaging system used in radiation therapy unit. The CBCT suffers from motion artefacts, making treatment planning inaccurate. Th...
